Can we start by giving a huge shoutout to Vie Magazine and its lovely Founder and Editor in Chief, Serena Sudila for bringing entrepreneurial, ambitious, purpose-driven Christian women together at the lovely Broadcast location to look cute, eat good, get treated like princesses and get empowered by women of God?
Not us sipping drinks and looking cute in this cost of living crisis UK economy! Lol.
I stumbled across the event through Nissy Tee as she was a panellist. I mean anything Nissy or any event she’s hosting or speaking at, I’m always down. And the event flier also included Hayley Mulenda – another powerhouse and that was enough to convince me to book a ticket ASAP. Besides when it comes to anything personal and professional development, I don’t joke. I take it seriously. I’m willing to give you my coins to get a WORD.
Anyways…the event was themed around femininity and seasons of womanhood and if you know me, I love a girly event. I love girls talk. I love girls night. I love girls trip. I’m down for the vulnerability, community and empowerment that envelopes the room when women come together – especially when it’s women of God.
I went to the event optimistic, ready to receive a WORD and girl I certainly did.
The event set-up was super cute, very chic, feminine to suit the vibe. You had the girlies in pretty dresses and pointed shoes, I was like okayyy girlies!!!
I really appreciated the attention to detail and the communal ambiance. It had a ‘family’ seating arrangement with a long banquet style table allowing for communal eating and socialising.
And we had cute branded merch, our name tags… I love merch. I love cute branding.
Anyways moving to the event itself…
The panel consisted of Nashida Jones discussing navigating newlywed seasons and lessons she’s learned; Deborah Van Der Bij touching on single, saved and thriving; Hayley Mulenda bringing the gems on building marriage and within marriage; Zoe Alexander on overcoming disappointment and lastly, Nissy Tee on motherhood. What a line-up!
Obviously I had my notepad out…. here are some of my fave one-liners from my the speakers 🙂

Nashida Jones On Discussing Navigating Newlywed Seasons
“You’re so used to lust, you don’t know what it’s like for someone to love you..”
“Watch out for warfare when you’re engaged and getting ready for marriage”
“A good man will never be intimidated by your calling. BUILD YOUR EMPIRE!”
“Respond not react, you can’t afford to be too emotional”
“Even “The One” can’t fulfill that longing you have”
“Get under good Christian leadership”
Hayley Mulenda On Building Marriage
“In your life, you should have three people — mentors, mentees and the safe space.”
“Marriage comes to multiply…”
“Not everyone’s for your marriage..”
“Sometimes God doesn’t answer your prayer because of lack of stewardship” Will you steward well what He gives you?
“God is saying…stop looking at what others are saying and look at what I’ve given you.”
Zoe Alexander on Overcoming Disappointment
“Healing comes in cycles. God has a bespoke healing plan for each of us..” Your healing can come through worship — you surrender it and it’s gone.
“God’s love is a fragrance. We can identify His scent in people.”
Nissy Tee on Nurturing The Mother In Me
“Just because you’re married doesn’t excuse you from your purpose”
“Sometimes God might delay marriage because you might make your husband an idol”
“Balance doesn’t exist. You have to understand the season you’re in and what you’re supposed to be doing.”
“God gave you the vision but the vision cannot go above God”
“God will give you the strategy. Sometimes we leave God and chase the vision…and go in the wrong direction. Go back to the drawing board…”

I can’t stress how lovely, girly, feminine this event was. In the midst of an economy bouncing back and forth from a cost of living crisis; to gather a group of solid purpose-driven Christian women to talk God and business and get the princess treatment all round, I’m inspired. I’m humbled.
I also met a lovely lady at this event whose discernment was on point and she encouraged me to get back into blogging and not slip on my gift.
And sis… this is how Motty Inspires revived. This was the final straw that got me in the game.
It was the final reminder that this is what I meant to be doing!
And here am I…being obedient to the calling
