Hello my lovely,
I hope you’re feeling well and enjoying the beautiful sunshine. It’s absolutely boiling here in London, and I’ve been taking the opportunity to go on long walks, spend time in nature, be with loved ones, and soak in all the goodness life has to offer.
Recently, I was listening to a Message titled ‘My Life Story’ by William Branham. For those who don’t know, I’m a Christian and a Message Believer. I believe that God has sent a Prophet for this generation—a man named William Branham.
In this message, Brother Branham shares openly about his upbringing. He was born to a very poor family. His mother was only 15 when she had him, and his father, just 18, struggled with alcoholism. They weren’t religious—though they had Irish roots and came from a Catholic background, they didn’t go to church. His father worked in the whiskey industry, and as a young boy, Brother Branham would often have to help him.
It was a tough life. While other kids went fishing, he was packing water and supporting a household that was struggling to survive. Listening to his story, I couldn’t help but think: this is the man God used as a prophet for our time?
Yes. It’s so humbling—and so God.
God uses the unlikely.
We often expect that God would choose someone from a perfect home—loving, stable, Christian parents who raised their child in the fear of the Lord. But God doesn’t work the way we expect. He often chooses the least likely. The broken. The overlooked.
Brother Branham’s story reminded me that God delights in taking what the world sees as mess and turning it into a message. He takes nobodies and uses them for His glory. He chooses the ones the world despises and transforms their lives into testimonies of hope and redemption.
As I listened, I was reminded of Jesus Himself. God didn’t choose a palace or a prestigious family for His Son. He chose a manger—where animals feed. He chose Mary, a young, unmarried woman, and Joseph, a humble carpenter. Their situation was filled with mystery, misunderstanding, and probably gossip.
And yet…God used that situation to change the entire course of humanity.
Reflecting on all this made me think of my own life. I haven’t achieved anything big by the world’s standards, but I’ve seen God use my story—my brokenness, my mistakes, my insecurities, my extreme shyness, and my messy childhood—to mould me into the woman I am today.
I still have places in my heart that need healing. But I know this: God has been so rich in mercy. He’s given me a heart to encourage others—especially women—and to share openly, so others know they’re not alone.
Throughout Scripture, we see God using people with questionable backgrounds—Rahab, the prostitute. Mary Magdalene, once tormented. The woman at the well, who had five husbands. These weren’t people of great reputation—but they became powerful vessels of His grace.
It’s never about how qualified we are. It’s about how willing we are to surrender.
You are usable—even in your mess
So, lovely, if you take anything from this blog post today, let it be this:
God can use you—even in your mess.
Despite your past. Despite your mistakes. Despite your background.
If you’re willing to surrender and be a vessel, God can take your life and make it a testimony.
