Look through the headlines, timelines, IG feeds and tell me the world isn’t slightly chaotic. So much going on. So much craziness politically. So much instability in social life, family life and it’s sometimes hard to keep the faith, here are some tips that have helped me stay afloat.

1. MASTER YOUR MIND THROUGH THE WORD

I don’t know how you’re feeling about everything going on right now, but let’s be real—it feels like a battlefield. We’re in a constant fight—physically, spiritually, and mentally. At first, I was going to call this post Don’t Lose Your Fight, because that’s exactly what the enemy wants. He wants you stressed, burnt out, and anxious. He wants you weak in faith, stuck in your past, drowning in guilt over mistakes you’ve made. And honestly? I nearly fell for it.

I had to snap out of it and remind myself—this is a mental battle. And in any battle, you need to be armed. As women of faith, our weapon is God’s Word. This is the time to dust out your Bible and actually read it. Not just stream an online sermon, or listen to some worship, this is the time to know God for yourself—to study His Word. What does God say about you? What promises has He spoken over your life? Speak it, believe it, and fight back those negative thought cycles. The choice is simple: trust God, or let the fear take over.

2. REMEMBER THE CHALLENGES YOU’VE ALREADY SURVIVED

Think about it—you’ve survived 100% of your worst days. Humans are resilient. We’ve been through the worst of history and we’re still here –pandemic and all. And if you bring it back to your daily life, think of the times you were at your breaking point. The moments you thought you wouldn’t make it. The struggles, the heartbreak, the financial stress, the self-doubt—you survived.

If you made it through that, you’ll make it through this.

This line of thinking has been a game-changer for me—reminding myself of past struggles and realising that if I pulled through then, by God’s grace, I will pull through now. The easiest thing to do in tough times is worry, overthink, and stress about the future. But I want to encourage you—you will get through this. Not by your own strength, but by God’s grace.

3. IT’S NOT HAPPENING TO YOU, IT’S HAPPENING FOR YOU

On top of everything going on in the world, we’re all facing our own personal struggles. For some, it’s relationships. For others, finances, health, or career worries. We’re all going through something. But here’s what I need you to remember: it’s not happening to you, it’s happening for you.

This challenge, this season—it’s part of your journey. One day, the struggles you’re facing now will be part of your testimony. I wrote myself a note during a rough season that said:

“Motunde, what you’re going through right now is part of the testimony you’ll one day share. Trust the process, even when you don’t understand it. The good, the bad, the confusing—it’s all working together for your good. TRUST.”

And that’s my message to you today: Trust. There’s no testimony without a test. Sometimes we go through things not just for ourselves, but to be an encouragement to someone else in the future. Other times, God allows challenges to shift our focus back to Him—to teach us how to rely on Him daily.

Trust my sister! Trust that everything is aligning for you.

I look back at my life and think back to my darkest days and trials I’ve been through that did not make sense; the ones that leave you feeling like “God, why me! I don’t deserve this” “God, why the rejection??” I wanted that dream; that opportunity so bad.

But years later, I look back and I’m grateful that door was shut. I’m grateful for where I am now. At the time, that dream was everything — I had to go to Law school. I didn’t want to fall behind my peers. I didn’t come this far for nothing… I want to be a qualified lawyer. But it was roadblock after roadblock, years of waiting and doing the not so glamorous jobs. Fast forward to today…that delay, that supposed “roadblock”, God used it to redirect me to the PR industry which I’m thriving at and which fuels my creative side.

Final Words—DON’T LOSE YOUR FIGHT.

Hard times can push us to go back to things we’ve been freed from—bad habits, toxic cycles, old addictions. Don’t fall back. Don’t let this season break you. The enemy is working overtime, but stay fortified. Stay prayed up. Stay in the Word.

You will pull through. You will come out stronger. Just don’t give up. 💛
