Woah! What a title!! This past week has been a challenging one for me, mixed emotions and settling back to uni and everything seems overwhelming and I’m overthinking…To sum it up, the first few days of the week were complicated…and I was reminded of this quote I came up with: “When the going gets tough, keep going”!
Life is a beautiful journey and the word ‘beautiful’ is used to capture all the twists and turns of the journey, all the good days and not so good days, learning to smile and keep pushing through it all. I don’t know how this post is going to go because I’m writing it at 11:26 pm on a Friday evening even though I usually write my posts on Saturdays but I feel like compiling this post now.
Friends, my journey has not been easy and what I love about this platform is being able to come here and share my story bit by bit, with the hope that it inspires someone out there. Writing for me is therapeutic….I’m not just writing for you but I’m writing for myself…We are all on this journey together.
I look at my life now and I’m grateful for how far I’ve come, rather how far God has brought me….I’m much more confident, happier, fulfilled, walking in my purpose each day and surrounded by beautiful family and friends but that doesn’t mean I don’t have bad days….we all have those days- when you are stressed out, heavy hearted, overwhelmed but it’s in those times that the ‘true you’ is made manifest. It’s in those moments that one’s faith is put to the test.
One lesson I’m learning every day is the importance of being consistent in whatever I do. I wrote a blog post a couple of weeks ago on ‘Why Consistency is important on your journey to Success’?! Check it out here! It’s easier said than done. It’s during the hard times, the days when things aren’t going the way you want, those are the days where you’ve got to keep your head high and keep grinding! I’ve learned and I love this quote by Albert Einstein which says “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” I’ve learned that I have a choice each day to wake up complaining or beating myself up or thinking about one mistake I made years ago or wake up grateful for life, for health and a new day to live out my purpose. I have realized that each new day means God is still working for me, it means my existence on earth is meaningful.
What does it mean to L I V E?
Sometimes, it is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and forget what to L I V E means…forget what good health is, forget what it means to laugh and be grateful!!! We’ve got this one LIFE. One life to DREAM, to DO, to WORK, to PLAY, to be GRATEFUL and to live out the TRUEST expression of ourselves.
It isn’t always going to be easy. I speak from experience especially being constantly in the ‘content creating’ world, social media, this and that, sometimes it is overwhelming, it is frustrating and discouraging but it is important that we do not lose sight of our vision but be consistent. That is the key to success! Every day, put your best foot forward; give your all in everything you do. Maintain the right attitude through the highs and lows of life. The challenges have come to build resilience. Resilience is a muscle as Sheryl Sandberg has elaborated on.
Believe in yourself. It is the foundation of a successful and fulfilling life. You are here because you are needed. The world needs your light. Stop selling yourself short. Put yourself out each day and strive to become a better ‘you’…Yes, there will be hard times!! But the purpose of this post is to remind you….that ‘When the going gets tough, keep going!!” You were made for such a time as this…
A Reminder that…
