HOW TO SLAY YOUR MONDAYS?!

For those of you who are my friends on Instagram, you will know that Mondays are absolutely my favorite day of the week. I love Mondays so much and if you notice, I post on my blog every Mondays at 1pm. So make sure you stick around! Why Mondays though??

It is a new start. It is a new slate. A new week with endless opportunities. Most people dread that 5am Monday alarm…the natural instinct is to curl back up in your duvets and snore your destiny away. Harsh but true!
In today’s post, I will be sharing 5 Ways To Slay Your Mondays!! These are personal tips and I hope you can apply them in your life and see results.

 

1. Sunday EVENINGS are for you to prepare: This tip is so important! There is a well-known quote that constantly floods my Instagram feed on Sundays and it goes “A Sunday well spent brings a week of content.” Sundays is the perfect time to plan your week, to evaluate the last week- the mistakes made and the improvements that need to be made. It is the time to settle down with a cup of tea and reflect and write down your goals for the forthcoming week. What do you want to achieve?- personal ,academic, work, relationships etc. Everyday is another opportunity to be a better you. So in order for you to set yourself up for a good and productive week, you must be willing to plan. There is a quote which says “If you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

If you want to avoid rushing in the mornings and constantly be running late to lectures and meetings, PLAN! So remember, Sundays are for planning! Relax and enjoy your weekend. But make sure you use your evenings well so that you are prepared for the week that lies ahead. And YES things go wrong, things do go out of your control but when you are prepared, you are equipped to handle any eventualities which might come your way during the week.

 

2.GOOD SLEEP: Another effective way to slay your Mondays is to have a good night’s rest!! The body needs rest! It needs to regain its energy for the upcoming day and if you are constantly overworking your body, it will affect your productivity. Quite a number of students do all-nighters which are life-savers for some. But personally, I am more of a morning person. Do what works for you but make sure you are able to regain those hours of sleep you lost. It is important. With a good rest, you wake up feeling energised and ready to conquer your day!!

 

 

3.Wake up EARLY: It is important to have a morning routine ( I will be doing a post on how to have a Killer Morning Routine). Having a morning routine helps keep you on top of your day. Waking up early helps you avoid like I mentioned before- all the rushing around. It gives you time to get yourself ready for the week- spend time on your personal development, read a book, listen to a podcast, pray or meditate. But when you are constantly rushing in the morning, how do you have time to think and reflect on your life and re-strategise? Besides, you don’t have to wake up at 5am each day in order to slay your Mondays lol but even waking up 30-45 mins earlier helps! Try this out and let me know in the comment section how it goes.

 

4.Have a Monday morning BOOSTER: It could be a podcast, or a motivational video or a devotion. It is important to have something that motivates you for the day and also for the week. Personally, I scroll through the Motty Inspires Instagram feed and watch some inspirational videos. I’m working on something special for my Instagram community so make sure you are following there! The positive reminders on my phone work well for me. It is easy to get drawn in the demands of life and lose sense of ourselves, lose sense of our purpose. So taking time to reconnect, re-evaluate, find inspiration, feed on personal development materials helps you regain yourself and keeps your mission aligned.

It is important also to maintain this positivity throughout the day and it is our responsibility to guard our hearts from negativity whether it is on social media or people in general.

 

5.BE ORGANISED: This involves you being up to date with all the tasks you have to do i.e the upcoming deadlines, projects, research that needs to be done, appointments that need to be made etc. Get a planner or schedule where you can put all these key information down. Set reminders! Aim to be in control of your life and stop blaming your life’s circumstances on people, events or things.

When you are clear on what you want to achieve for the day, it gives you more room to make those things happen. Know what you want and Go for it! Staying organised is an important habit to develop.

 

 

MONDAYS are amazing!! Wake up knowing you can handle anything that comes your way, Go with this mentality. GO CONQUER!!
